What is the Business Community Partnership Program?

The Business Community Partnership program was set up to help the Geelong business community to understand the uniqueness of Anam Cara Geelong as a community respite service. The program opens Anam Cara Geelong's doors to local businesses, enabling us to work together with the common goal of providing respite to the many local families who care for someone with a chronic or terminal illness.

Gartland Real Estate has always been passionate about Geelong - the town, the people and the community - since opening the doors of the business in 1999. Director Bob Gartland, his wife Phillipa and the Gartland Team have endeavored to support various charities and groups wherever possible. Over the years, Gartland's community involvement has grown rapidly, so it was decided that they would channel these various involvements all under one banner. Gartland Community. What is the Business Community Partnership Program?

Has anyone you know ever needed care as they face an illness that limits the length and quality of their life?

We all hope to have good health and live a full and long life. However any one of us may face a chronic or terminal illness that could prematurely end our life or significantly restrict how we live it. Anam Cara House Geelong provides a “a place like home” for those of us who experience a life limiting illness, or care for someone in that situation.

We celebrated our eighth year of operation in July 2015. Since we opened our doors in July 2007, the cost to Anam Cara Geelong to cover one night of palliative care with full medical and nursing support is $2,000.

The aim of the Business Community Partnership Program is to endeavour to provide our palliative care services at no cost to our guests and their carers.

Anam Cara Geelong receives no current government funding despite the significant community benefit we provide.

How can you help?

You can pledge your support for Anam Cara Geelong through our new Business Community Partnership program. By joining our program you will help provide hope to the many local families facing the challenges of a loved one with a life-limiting illness.

Your pledge & the benefits of pledging:

  • $2,000 per annum
  • Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status
  • Peace of mind for guests and their families
