Operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, day hospice gives carers a much-needed break while their loved one is cared for by a Registered nurse and a dedicated team of volunteers who have each completed Palliative Care Victoria's volunteer training program. This is a free service.
A fully accredited yet home-like environment, Anam Cara House provides holistic, person-centred care by RN1 registered nursing staff, supported by dedicated and caring volunteers who have each completed Palliative Care Victoria's volunteer training program.
Low-cost bed and breakfast accommodation in our heritage-listed house is available to carers and families of end-of-life and overnight respite guests; as well as carers and families who have a loved one at one of Geelong's nearby hospitals - St John of God or University Hospital.

The Carer Accommodation at Anam Cara Geelong provides comfortably furnished bedrooms (some with ensuites) and a shared sitting room.
Respite allows carers to take some time out for their own needs, or to access accommodation close to a loved one who is receiving medical treatment in a nearby hospital or medical centre.
Specially trained volunteers will assist the Registered Nurse to support the guests at the Day Hospice.
The Day Hospice provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for people with a chronic illness or life limiting illness.
